Join Our Team
Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is tasked with providing quality-of-life programming for the military community. These leisure programs and support services contribute not only to the resiliency, retention and readiness of Active Duty military personnel on base, but also military spouses, children, families, retirees, veterans and DoD civilians located both on and off the installation.
Onboard Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport, MWR operates the following programs:
- Auto Skills Center
- Community Recreation: Tickets & Travel Office
- Community Recreation: Outdoor Rental
- Liberty Center (Single Sailors/Unaccompanied/Geo-Bachelors)
- Seabee Cinema (Movie Theater)
- The Grill (Restaurant)
- Fitness Center
- Aquatics
- Intramural Sports
- Shields RV Park
In addition, MWR oversees all NCBC Child and Youth Programs (CYP), including the Gulfport Child Development Center, Stennis Space Center Child Development Center, Youth Center, Teen Center and School Liaison.
The free and low-cost programs, recreational activities and events offered by MWR provide opportunities to relax and unwind, and also help create a sense of community for personnel stationed onboard NCBC.
