Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is looking for volunteers from NCBC Gulfport to participate in its Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Focus Group and Program Assessment.

The goal: Determine which programs are meaningful, desired, and best meet service member and family interests and needs.

NCBC Gulfport is one of 20 installations around the Navy chosen to participate in these focus groups. What is a focus group, you ask? It is a facilitator-led discussion where a small number of participants talk with each other and the facilitator about the topic of interest in order to generate insights and actionable information. In this case, 8-12 participants from six different groups will discuss MWR in order to help the Navy improve its MWR programs.

Volunteers are needed from each of the following groups:

  1. Junior Enlisted (E4 and below) Males
  2. Junior Enlisted (E4 and below) Females
  3. Senior Enlisted
  4. Officers
  5. DoD Civilians
  6. Military Spouses

Each group will take place during one in-person, 90-minute session, and participant names and identifying information will not be included in any reports or briefs resulting from your feedback.

Eligible participants need to have been on the installation for at least six months to have had the opportunity to engage with MWR programs. We anticipate that participants will have different levels of engagement with MWR programs, and we want to obtain feedback on the variety of your experiences.

PLEASE NOTE: Because the goal is to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed expectations in our Recreation programs and services, these focus groups are specific to MWR and not child care

In order to maximize participation, we're asking interested participants to visit and complete the form, indicating your preferred date and time to attend your group of interest. Based on responses, we will pick a day and time for each group and contact all respondents with details.

This is your chance to make your voice heard and help us improve and expand all that MWR has to offer!

Thank you in advance for your support. This is a great opportunity for our patrons to truly shape the future of our MWR programs and, moreover, to help lead the way in establishing a successful process for other installations to follow in ensuring that we are meeting the needs of our service members and their families.
