DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe incumbent is responsible for the inventory of supplies and linen used in support of the operation.  Prepares purchase request forms/documents for approval and places orders where appropriate.  Maintains assigned storerooms and linen storage spaces accurately.  Receives and counts linen received from the commercial laundry service or onsite laundry operation.  Issues linen as requested.  Receives, counts, places in inventory and prepares goods receipts for all supplies as appropriate.  Maintains stock records and conducts monthly inventories as appropriate.  Ensures security of all guests is maintained at all times.  Ensures guest privacy is maintained at all times.  Must possess a welcoming attitude; demonstrate effective communication skills; professionally interact with guest; answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local attractions.  Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.  Performs other duties as assigned. 

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:   Work experience of 6 months that demonstrates incumbent knowledge of inventory management including purchasing procedure and computerized record keeping is preferred.  Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs and proficient with a calculator.  Must possess basic math and reading skills.  Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.  Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds is required.  Assisted lifting in excess of 45 pounds may be required.    In order to verify fitness for duty, a complete physical examination may be required.  May be required to possess a valid state driver license.
