PURPOSE:   The purpose of this position is to perform front desk and/or reservation functions for the lodging program.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ensures security and privacy of guests is maintained at all times.  Receive requests and process reservations within established guidelines. When rooms are not available, provide a certificate of non-availability (CNA) and /or alternative lodging in the area.  Ensure guest privacy and security measures are maintained at all times.  Utilizes the property management system to register guests and assign rooms upon check-in.  Receives and is accountable for a change fund.  Collect service charges, damage, and other charges upon checkout. Prepare Daily Activity Records (DAR) and deposits cash receipts at the end of the shift.  Answer phone, transfer calls to appropriate individual and handle guest questions.  Keep the front desk area clean and neat in appearance. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Requirements include extended periods of standing; walking and lifting/carrying objects up to 30 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Work is primarily performed indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess a valid state Driver’s License. Preferred 6 months of work experience that demonstrates a knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations and administration related to front desk and/or other reservation operations. Must be able to communicate well orally and in writing with management, staff and guests.  Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs.  Must possess basic math and reading skills.  Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing English.  Ability to control, account for and handle large amounts of cash. This position is subject to completion of a satisfactory background or National Agency Check (NAC) in accordance with CNIC policy.

You MUST be referenced (family) on the orders.  If you are not referenced by name on the order, you MUST provide a copy of your marriage certificate.
